History

The Domke family moved to Kyiv, Ukraine in the summer of 2008.  While serving on staff at San Jose Baptist Church, Michael & JuliAn felt God was calling them to pursue international missions.  They serve as team leaders for church planting with the International Mission Board, which is the mission arm of the Southern Baptist Convention.

Mission

Kyiv is the capital city of Ukraine, a city of around 3 million people.  Ukraine is a slavic country rich in history with it’s roots in Orthodoxy.  Statistics show that less than 2% are evangelical believers in Jesus Christ.

The people of Ukraine are hard working and very nationalistic.  This former Soviet Union country was the bread basket for the Soviet Union. Every family is affected by substance abuse.

To be Ukrainian is to be Orthodox. The beautiful gold domed churches are everywhere throughout the country. Ukraine is the birthplace of the Orthodox church in Eastern Europe.
